Welcome to Uppsala Hackathon 2016!

It's that time of year again when Uppsala's creative crowd sits down to make something cool in one day! Sign up alone or with some friends and think of an idea you want to try out during the hackathon on October 22nd.

As always, Uppsala Hackathon is admission free, and food will be served throughout the day (breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks and coffee)!

This year, the theme is "disruptive tech". Create something embracing this theme during the day, and if you are lucky, you might charm the jury enough to be crowned the winner.

def: disruptive
[dis-ruhp-tiv] - adjective

A disruptive technology is one that displaces an established technology, shakes up an industry or a ground-breaking product that creates a completely new industry.

def: hackathon
[hack-uh-thon] - noun (jargon)

An event where participants take on a creative or technological challenge within a given continuous time frame.

TL;DR: Sign up, tell your friends, bring your laptop, have fun and learn something new!

A one-day-event where you meet new people, eat and create new stuff.

From 9:00-17:00 we'll work on building a prototype, app, website or similar piece of tech that has disruptive potential. You can sign up with your friends, coworkers or mingle with people there. At the end of the day we present the results to the jury, and to each other.

We’ll be holding the event at the new coworking centre for tech startups, BASE10! We’ll be one of the first events to take place and you’ll have a chance to look around and hear more about the centre.

During the day there will be food, coffee and other beverages served to the attendees.

There will be power and WiFi, but bring your own laptops.

Oh, and did I tell you that we have sponsors that have made this event free for you?!
